Lebec's extended family includes the Briards that lived with me at one time, and those that I co-own. Sometimes it is better for a Briard to live in a pet home with just one or two companions, instead of living in my multi-dog household. Being a breeder can be a balancing act - you never want to have so many Briards that even one does not get the attention they deserve. At the same time, you are always looking towards the next generation, and have to be sure you have access to the Briards you need to produce that generation.

I have had other Briards that have passed through my home. They moved on to homes better suited to their needs, but I still hear how they are doing!

Rumor

Ch. Lebec's Something To Talk About

Rumor is the boy I kept from Sass' last litter. No one ever told him Briards are supposed to be reserved with strangers, and he isn't! He knows that people were given hands just to pet him. When in public, he will go from person to person, leaning on people until they pet him, moving on when that person gets tired. He likes nothing more than to be laying, sitting, or standing with his head in a lap. When a lap is not available, he is an energetic boy, playing with his housemate Tawny Jeanne, and making sure the rabbits in the yard know he will catch them eventually! A beautiful boy, Rumor was Select at the 2004 Rassemblement. Rumor stayed with me the first year of his life, he now lives with a family that truly appreciates his wonderful temperament. He has a tawny girlfriend to boss around, a teenager to play with, and lives the good life.

Rumor has sired one litter. Since he passed on his high tail set (he can do a great poodle imitation) to that litter, his breeding career ended there.

Yahoo

Yahoo is a Belgium import, a very soft, sweet boy, and yet another failure in trying to get Howie to allow another boy in the home. And when Yahoo bloated, I knew the stress of showing, and living with Howie, was not good for him. When I had just started to look for a new home for Yahoo, I had a visitor, a serviceman stationed in Japan who wanted to meet Briards. Yahoo fell in love at first site. He just melted when he met Al. I mean this boy just turned himself inside out to be as close to Al as he could be, and then just slept next to him like he had finally found peace. I have never seen anything like it, before or since. The feeling was mutual! Al went back to Japan, but returned a month later to pick up Yahoo and take him to Japan to live with his family. They had people fighting to dogsit Yahoo, he was a very popular boy! After a couple of years there, Yahoo and his new family returned to the states, and Yahoo lives on the east coast. This boy has frequent flyer miles. Belgium to California to Japan to Florida to Virginia. He is happy and adored, and what more could I ask for?

Cliche
Lebec's Victory is Sweet

Cliche was the product of a breeding between Journey and Trademark, using semen that had been frozen for 22 years. She is the smartest, most biddable Briard I have ever lived with. She also, unfortunately, ended up with one of the worst rears I have ever seen, and a coat that resembles a brillo pad. Cliche went to live with Marsha and Tom in Las Vegas, where she has learned to love having her own pool, and shares her toys with Abby.

Vegas
Ch. Lebec's Take a Chance

Winners Bitch 2003 Briard Club of California Specialty

Vegas was the girl I kept from Journey and Markie. Dripping with superb coat, angulation to die for, high energy and smart, Vegas decided to wage war on her mother. Journey was not averse to the battles, but I got tired of the constant tension in the household, not to mention the occasional bloodshed. Keeping Vegas would have meant that she and Journey would always have to be separated, and that would have meant a lower quality of life for both. So, Vegas went to a new home, where she has a male cousin to play with and owners who are devoted. It's safe to say that Journey does not miss her daughter!

Layla, Jake, and Chat all were loved when they stayed in Lebec, and all are doing well in forever homes.
