Born 12-10-98, Journey is beautifully put together, with lovely movement and proportions. She is my "first born", the first puppy in the first litter I bred. She earned her AKC Championship in May 2001. At the 2002 BCA Rassemblement, she was rated "Select", the highest rating possible. Her sire Shaka is a 3 time BCA National Specialty Best of Breed, the top winning black Briard of all time. Journey's dam Sassy earned an Award of Merit at the 1997 National Specialty, and won the Brood bitch class at the 2001 BCA National Specialty, along with many other accomplishments.
Journey is smart (a smart Briard can be a handful), high energy, and inherited her parents' dominant natures. Her structure is excellent and her coat quality is superb, which makes grooming very easy. Like her littermates, she is a dog with lots of personality. She loved to shadow Howie as he patrolled the yard. She also loves to harass her mom, which constantly gets her in trouble!
Journey had 3 litters in her career as a mom. She was bred to her great uncle Markie, Montagne's Hallmark de Lindeau; her great-grandfather Trademark, Ch. Lindeaux Trademark, TT ROM HOF; and to Caesar, Ch. Julius Caesar Nadina-Sis. Jouney produced well, and was an excellent mother.
Journey adores people she knows, but is very careful with strangers, be they human or dog. She would like to rule the house, but Sassy still takes precedence, and regularly tells her so! Journey loves to have her butt scratched, and to make sure all the younger residents of the house show her proper respect.
Journey's sister Page was the second Briard ever to earn the obedience title UDX, and has a number of agility titles as well. Her sister Odyssey is also titled in both obedience and agility, and Journey shares that intelligence and drive. She just doesn't have an owner with the same dedication to training. I'd rather carefully select breedings, produce beautiful Briards, and get to play with puppies.
