Sass is not my first Briard, she was my fifth. It seems hard to believe, though. Sass is the love of my life, and the Briard that was finally good enough to breed. Born in 1995, Sassy is out of Ch. Hi-Ya Handsome de Lindeau, and Popsakadoo Merrybend (Timely). Timely was never shown, but Handsome had a very successful career showing and as a stud dog. Sassy was bred by Dominique Dube and Andre Morin in Canada. I will be forever grateful that they entrusted her to me! Sass is under strict instructions to live forever, because I can't imagine life without her.
Sassy is a moderate sized, pushy, very dominant Briard, always very close to me. She believes the floor was made for walking, not laying on, and someone invented my bed for her sole comfort. She throws a little party, dancing and barking, whenever she gets to come through a door with me and the other Briards are left behind. Sass wants to rule the world, but do it with a remote control from the couch. Any stranger becomes a friend as long as they have food, but when the pockets are empty they are forgotten. Sass has the true Briard reserve with strangers, but those she loves are never forgotten.
Sassy has exceptional movement, a lovely head, and beautiful type. She was bred three times, and has Champion offspring from each litter, including five of the girls from her first litter. Four of those girls are also Rass Select, as well as two of her sons from her other litters. Sass has a Best in Show / Best in Show Specialty son, and has titled offspring in obedience and agility. Her daughter Page is the only Briard to earn a UDX 2, and is working on her OTCH and UDX 3.
Sassy was a strict disciplinarian with her children, only relaxing with her third litter. Any new pup in the house learns very quickly to respect her! Sass never hurts a pup, but they are expected to live by her rules. And they better learn them quickly! Sass has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, including Belle who shares her home.
