There are various reasons why a Briard may be looking for a new home. Families must move, a death or divorce happens, or two Briards aren't getting along in the same home. A particular Briard may be unhappy in a multidog household. A first time Briard home may discover the breed is not right for them. Breeders are often faced with the choice of keeping, or placing, a dog that will not be suitable for breeding or showing. It is often better for a dog to be placed in a pet home where they will be the center of attention, rather than remain in a breeder's multidog household.
It is a wrenching experience to place a dog, but responsible owners and reputable breeders always try to do what will most benefit the individual dog. Briards that are placed bond very strongly with their new owners, in a remarkably short time. It can be disconcerting when the dog that you cried buckets over when you placed him barely notices you a few months later! If you have an older Briard that needs to find a new home, I will be happy to list that Briard here. Just get in touch!
